Sharon Kay Lange, 68, of Jackson passed away Friday, May 27, 2016, at her home.

She was born June 11, 1947, in St. Louis, daughter of Oscar and Sola Young Franck. She and August “Harold” Lange were married Sept. 29, 1967, in Jackson.

Sharon grew up in Marquand, Missouri. She was a 1965 graduate of Patton (Missouri) High School and received a bachelor’s degree in early-childhood education from Southeast Missouri State University in 1987.

Although she worked for the Jackson Hosiery Mill and a Cape Girardeau day care, Sharon was a homemaker most of her life. She enjoyed spending time with her four daughters and two granddaughters, birdwatching — especially hummingbirds — and was also a fan of WWE Wrestling.

In addition to Harold, her husband of 48 years, loving survivors include four daughters, Cindy Lange of Sikeston, Missouri, Tammy (David) Riley of Jackson, Sherry Lange and Terry (Craig) Ward of Cape Girardeau; two granddaughters, Skylar Lange-Bell and Ashlynn Ward; a brother-in-law, Jerry Lange; a dear friend, Cynthia Walker of Sikeston; and a beloved canine friend, Pugsy.
