Sharon B. Hulcy Barrows, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, June 8, 2018, at Southeast Hospital. She was born Aug. 9, 1934 in Du Quoin, Illinois, to the late Joseph L. and Thelma Bechtlofft Barenkamp. She was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School and Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor's degree in education. Sharon B. Hulcy Barrows, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, June 8, 2018, at Southeast Hospital.

She was born Aug. 9, 1934 in Du Quoin, Illinois, to the late Joseph L. and Thelma Bechtlofft Barenkamp.

She was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School and Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor's degree in education. She taught physical education at Cape Girardeau Central High School 21 years, retiring in 1991.

She and Zane C. Hulcy married June 2, 1957. He preceded her in death July 18, 1978. She then married Wallace H. Barrows on March 23, 1982, who also preceded her in death April 10, 2015.

Sharon was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. She was an avid gardener and golfer, and was a member of the Four Seasons Garden Club, the Women's Golf Association and the Cape Girardeau Country Club.

Loving survivors include a sister, Margaret Rose Spear of Cape Girardeau; daughter, Margaret (Tony) Wiggins and granddaughter Madalyn G. Wiggins; son, David (Laura) Hulcy and granddaughters Zane Elizabeth and Gabrielle F. Hulcy, all of Cape Girardeau; and stepsons, Thomas (Debbie) Barrows of Oak Ridge and stepgrandsons, Christopher and Dustin Barrows of Cape Girardeau and Terry (Lori) Barrows and stepgranddaughter Hailey Barrows and stepgrandson Wallace C. Barrows of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; one niece; and three nephews.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home, with the funeral immediately following, officiated by the Rev. Dave Conley. Burial will take place at Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Four Seasons Garden Club.
