Sharon Kay Huey, 71, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, July 1, 2017, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Dec. 14, 1945, in Cape Girardeau to Louis Simon Williams II and Dorothy Boren Williams. She and Don Huey were married June 1, 2002, in Cape Girardeau. He passed away April 8, 2009.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Altar Guild and Ladies Aid. Sharon was a member of many community organizations, such as Zonta and the American Heart Association. She was a registered nurse for more than 50 years and worked in the fields of neurology, internal medicine, women's care, allergy and psychiatry. She owned and operated Williams Beltone Hearing Center for many years.
Sharon had a huge green thumb and loved working with her plants and flowers. She enjoyed spending time with her family and attending the Arts Council First Fridays. She also enjoyed going to River Campus plays with her cousins.
Survivors include her son, Herbert "Sean" Williams of Cape Girardeau; her daughter, Patricia "Patty" (Chris) Blaylock of Cape Girardeau; and her grandson, Trevor Sean Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Louis Simon "Tink" Williams III.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Daniel Maske officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church or School in Cape Girardeau or Parkinsons Disease Foundation.
