CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Sharon Sue Gibbons, 72, of Chaffee passed away Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born March 16, 1942, in Delta to the late Lonnie and Wanda Lou Harford Hodges. She married Donald Lee Gibbons on Aug. 14, 1969. He preceded her in death March 28, 2010...

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Sharon Sue Gibbons, 72, of Chaffee passed away Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 16, 1942, in Delta to the late Lonnie and Wanda Lou Harford Hodges. She married Donald Lee Gibbons on Aug. 14, 1969. He preceded her in death March 28, 2010.

Survivors include two sons, Lawrence (Sandy) Gibbons of Kelso, Missouri, and Lonnie Gibbons of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Sarah (Michael) Backfisch of Benton, Missouri; two stepdaughters; a stepson; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren locally, as well as many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a son, Shane Hodges; and two brothers.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until noon Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel.

A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
