S.D. Warford, 87, of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., formerly of Scott City, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2007, at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital.
He was born Oct. 27, 1919, at Fornfelt, son of S.D. and Ruth Rose Warford. He first married Vivian Lottman, who preceded him in death. He later married Jean Shapiro.
Warford was retired from Cotton Belt Railroad. He was a 33rd Degree Mason, member of Shrine Club and past patron of University City Order of Eastern Star.
He served in the National Guard.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Steve Shapiro of St. Charles, Mo., Gilbert Shapiro of Kansas City, Mo.; two daughters, Myra Essman Spoto of Chesterfield, Mo., Henrietta Shine of St. Charles, Mo.; a granddaughter; stepgrandchildren; great-stepgrandchildren; and great-great-stepgrandchildren.
There is no visitation.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Second Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gary Douglas officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery at Scott City.
Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve is in charge of arrangements.
