Scott Michael Doemel, 26, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away Friday, June 13, 2014, at his home.
He was born April 2, 1988, in Cape Girardeau, son of Todd and Debbie Lottes Doemel, and brother of Sarah (Christian) Oldenburg.
Scott graduated from Bartram Trail High School in 2006, and in 2008 from St. John's River Community College with a certification in criminal justice. He was issued a certificate of compliance for law enforcement officers July 31, 2012.
He was a judicial officer with Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. Scott planned to be a police officer his entire life and loved his fellow officers. He was an avid sports fan and loved the Green Bay Packers and St. Louis Cardinals.
More than anything, Scott loved his family, friends, cars, boats and life. He was the most dedicated friend a person could have and the most loving family member.
In addition to his loving family, survivors include two nieces who adored him, Samantha Ann "Squeaks" and Olivia Kathleen Oldenburg; grandfather George Doemel of Jackson; aunts and uncle, Diane (Vince) Diebold of Jackson, Denise (Rich) Siebert and Laura (Henry) Bishop of Cape Girardeau, Chris Doemel of Atlanta, Terri (Randy) Fluegge and Julene (Tom) Tojo of St. Louis; cousins Jessie Pool, Elizabeth (Dan) Gantner, Curt and Sydney Doemel, Jordan and Jenna Tojo, Michael (Shu) Travis (Laura), Amanda, Mindy, Joe, Annie and Tom Siebert, Shelby and Rebecca Ray; and special friend Katie (Kat) Curran.
Scott was preceded in death by a sister, Samantha Elizabeth Doemel; grandmother Shirley Doemel; grandparents Dennis and Mary Ann Lottes. There are so many more special people who Scott loved, and who loved Scott, there is not enough room to name them all.
Funeral Mass was today at San Juan Del Rio Catholic Church in St. John's, Florida.
