Scott Burton

ADVANCE, Mo. -- Hubert "Scott" Burton Jr., 44, of Advance passed away Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018, in Bollinger County, Missouri.

He was born May 13, 1974, at Chaffee, Missouri, the son of Hubert Scott Sr. and Debra Burton. Scott and Misty Hopkins were united in marriage Dec. 15, 2000, at Bloomfield, Missouri, and she survives of the home.

Scott was a 1992 graduate of Chaffee High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He had been a truck driver most of his life. He loved spending time with his family, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Misty Burton; three daughters, Ashley McPherson of Painton, Missouri, Sarah Burton of Advance and Katie Burton of the home; his mother, Debra Burton of Scott City; his stepmother, Sheila Burton of Chaffee; a brother, Jason Burton of Advance; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hubert Burton Sr.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at the chapel, with the Rev. Gary Burns officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Forrest Hills Cemetery near Morley, Missouri.
