Scott Roland Ayers, 63, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2023, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born Dec. 6, 1959, in Cape Girardeau to Joe and Etta Perkins Ayers. He and Cassandra Stewart were married Sept. 23, 2006, at Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include his wife, Cassandra Ayers of Cape Girardeau; a stepdaughter, Marsha Murray of St. Louis; 10 siblings, Tina Wright of Cape Girardeau, Joe (Wendy) Ayers Jr. of Euless, Texas, Angela Ayers, Felicia Ayers, Darius Ayers, Demetria Stephens and Stacie Ayers, all of Columbia, Missouri, Paul (Stacy) Ayers of Gastonia, North Carolina, Tiesha Johnson of Cape Girardeau and Samuel (Kellie) Smith of Philadelphia; two special uncles, Walter Holiman and Nathan Lewis, both of St. Louis; a special aunt, Joyce Thrower of Atlanta; and many nieces and nephews.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents, a stepson and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 26, at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial service will follow at noon Saturday, Aug. 26, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Fred Harris officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
