JACKSON -- Sarah T. Sperling, 81, of Jackson, died Monday, Oct. 4, 1993, at her home. She was born Nov. 15, 1911, at Whitewater, daughter of Edgar and Lottie Davis Ford. She and Otto H. Sperling were married Nov. 19, 1933, at Tilsit. He died Nov. 9, 1988...

JACKSON -- Sarah T. Sperling, 81, of Jackson, died Monday, Oct. 4, 1993, at her home.

She was born Nov. 15, 1911, at Whitewater, daughter of Edgar and Lottie Davis Ford. She and Otto H. Sperling were married Nov. 19, 1933, at Tilsit. He died Nov. 9, 1988.

Sperling had worked at Ott's Cafe, Brice's Variety Store, and Cox's 5 and 10 Store, all in Jackson. She was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ and its Friendship Circle, and had served as a Republican committeewoman.

Survivors include a son, Thomas Sperling of Jackson; two daughters, Marilyn Whitmore and Sarah Wessel of Jackson; a brother, W.C. Ford of Marble Hill; a sister, Lillian Wesolowsky of Cape Girardeau; a half sister, Pearl Baumgardner of St. Petersburg, Fla.; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Sam Roethemeyer will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
