CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Sarah Alene Maxwell, 94, of Chaffee died Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born April 22, 1913, at Puxico, Mo., daughter of Henry Warren and Cora Lee Hodge Shrum. She and Guy Maxwell were married March 23, 1935. He died April 5, 1967.
Maxwell was a retired bookkeeper who had worked at Sports Specialty Shoe Co. and Florsheim Shoe Factory in Chaffee. She was a member of the Chaffee Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 48 and the First Christian Church in Chaffee.
Survivors include a son, Jack Maxwell of Jefferson City, Mo.; a daughter, Janis Martin of Opelika, Ala.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter and six sisters.
Friends may call starting at 4 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. Vyron Yount will officiate, with burial in Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
