ANNA, Ill. -- Sarah Adeline Boyd, 92, of Anna died Monday, May 13, 2019, at Union County Hospital in Anna. She was born Oct. 23, 1926, in Anna, the daughter of John Henry and Grace Lyerle Miller. ANNA, Ill. -- Sarah Adeline Boyd, 92, of Anna died Monday, May 13, 2019, at Union County Hospital in Anna.

She was born Oct. 23, 1926, in Anna, the daughter of John Henry and Grace Lyerle Miller. She married the love of her life, Dennis Boyd, on Feb. 24, 1945, in Union County, Illinois. He preceded her in death Jan. 23, 2007.

Sarah was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Although her main job was a housewife, she worked various part-time jobs as she traveled around the United States with her husband, who was in the U.S. Navy and worked as an air traffic controller for the Federal Aviation Administration for more than 30 years. She was also a member of the American Legion.

Sarah is survived by a son, John F. Boyd of Anna; other relatives and friends in Union County and Scott City; a pug named Sadie; and three cats, Jack, Blu and Guyson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dennis Boyd; and two brothers, James "Bud" and Harold Eugene Miller.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Pastor Tim Weiser officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, St. John's Cemetery or PAWS animal shelter. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home and the church.
