SARAH ADKINS

MOREHOUSE -- Sarah Jane Adkins, 99, of Morehouse died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 1996, at Clearview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sikeston.

She was born March 31, 1897, in Weatherford, Texas, daughter of A.J. and Lucy Jane Sosebee Anderson. She and Milem Taylor Adkins were married Oct. 7, 1918, in Panama, Okla.

Adkins moved to Missouri in 1924. She had lived at Morehouse since 1945, and was a charter member of the Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include her husband; a son, J. Elvin Adkins of Morehouse; a daughter, Opal Jackson of Nerco, Calif.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son.

Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse from 5-8 p.m. Friday.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Rick Krietemeyer officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
