Sandra Riehn

Sandra K. Riehn, 68, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Aug. 9, 2015, at her home.

She was born Oct. 4, 1946, in Bloomfield, Missouri, to John and Erma Cooper Ivy.

She and Pete Riehn were married in 1972 in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death in 1974.

Sandy was a graduate of Bloomfield High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University.

She began working at the Southeast Missourian at age 18 and was employed there more than 47 years. She was one of the longest serving employees in the company.

Survivors include a daughter, Laurie (Craig) Wood of Farmington, Missouri; a sister, Barbra McDaniel of Memphis, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Hannah, Chloe, Michaela and Zane; a niece, Bethany Stanley of Haslet, Texas; and a nephew, Nathan McDaniel of Memphis.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Ivy; mother, Erma Hester; husband, Pete Riehn; and sister, Sharon Dunivan.

Friends may visit from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

A graveside funeral service will be at 12:15 p.m. Saturday at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the USO or Safe Harbor No Kill Animal Shelter.
