BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- Samuel Welker, 88, of Bloomfield died Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, at his home.
He was born Sept. 15, 1912, at Blodgett, Mo., son of George and Eliza Willis Welker. He and Helen Dunlap were married Dec. 11, 1933.
Welker was a retired carpenter. He moved from Bell City, Mo., to Bloomfield in 1947. He attended General Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Sammie Welker of Bloomfield; two daughters, Mary Cook of St. Louis, Jean Dunaway of Bonne Terre, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, and six brothers and sisters.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Vyron Yount officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Bell City.
