SALLY MCMIKLE

EAST PRAIRIE -- Sally Katherine McMikle, 96, formerly of East Prairie, died Sunday, May 25, 1997, at the Bertrand Retirement Center.

She was born Feb. 27, 1901, in New Madrid County to William M. and Mary Patterson Black. She married Joseph Bernie McMikle on Feb. 23, 1919, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 1982.

She was a farmer, a real estate agent and an avid gardener. She lived in New Madrid and Mississippi counties her whole life.

She was a member of the Gospel Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Margariete Shibley of Germantown, Tenn., and Leola Roach of Indianapolis; two sons, W.J. McMikle of Sikeston and Elgin McMikle of Charleston; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were a son, a daughter, a grandson, a brother, a sister, two half brothers and two half sisters.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. James Bolden and Rev. Burl Britt officiating. Interment will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
