GREENWOOD, Miss. -- Sadie Frances Goff Hagar, 87, of Greenwood, formerly of Benton, Missouri, died Friday, May 22, 2020, at Riverview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Greenwood.
She was born to D.L. and Rachel Koehler Goff on Sept. 20, 1932, in Louisville, Mississippi. She married Dewey C. Hagar on May 5, 1950.
Sadie was dedicated to her family and was a dedicated Christian. She was a retired history and government teacher, having taught at Thomas W. Kelly High School in Benton. She served as a social worker at Shady Lawn Nursing Home in Vicksburg, Mississippi, before her retirement.
She is survived by her sons, Richard Dewey (Mona) Hagar of Hollandale, Mississippi, and Randal Thomas (Vicky) Hagar of Wake Village, Texas; and grandchildren, Josh Hagar of Nashville, Tennessee, Matthew Hagar of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and Rachel Hagar Reeves of Ozark, Arkansas. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Maelynn Hagar, Dax Hagar, Aiden Hagar, Audra Hagar and Jacob Reeves.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister, Bernice Hendricks.
Graveside service was held Wednesday at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Morley, Missouri.
