ADVANCE -- Sadie E. Leadbetter, 93, of Festus and formerly of Advance died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Festus.
She was born March 11, 1906, in Bollinger County, the daughter of Ira and Columbia Rhodes Barks. She and Elsworth Leadbetter were married May 18, 1924. He died April 11, 1971.
She was a member of the Mount Zion General Baptist Church in Scopus.
She is survived by three sons, Hobert Leadbetter of Silex, Donald Leadbetter of Hazelwood and Jerry Leadbetter of Bridgeton; three daughters, Cledith McCulley of Manteno, Ill., Lela Jane Jones of Advance and Ruth Lovins of Bernie; 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, a grandson and a great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the chapel, with burial at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
