WOODBURN, Ore. -- Raymond Hastey Jones, 81, of Woodburn died Sunday, Dec. 10, 1995, at a hospital in Silverton.
He was born Nov. 6, 1914, in Hunterville, son of Columbus and Dora Ruffner Jones. He and Margaret Nell Eggert were married Dec. 30, 1939 in Toledo, Ore.
Jones was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired in 1955 after serving in World War II and Korea but continued to serve in the Military Sea Transport Service during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree and the Elk's Lodge. He was a graduate of the University of Portland.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mary Ellen McMahon of Sublimity, Ore.; a brother Edgar Jones of Jackson; and three grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Woodburn. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the Cornwell Colonial Chapel in Woodburn. Burial will be in St. Luke's Catholic Cemetery there.
