MARSTON, Mo. -- Ruthie Mae Long, 69, of Marston died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
She was born June 13, 1931, in Marston, the daughter of Joe and Hattie Johnson Treadwell. She married Cornell Long on March 26, 1949. He died Dec. 11, 1998.
She was employed with the Senior Citizens Companion Program in Portageville, Mo., and was a member of the Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Marston. She sang in the church choir.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty Long Graham of Marston and Andrea Long of North Lake, Ill.; six sons, Larry Long, Timothy Long and Terry Long, all of Lilbourn, Mo., Leonard Long and Maurice Long of Marston and Richie Long of Savannah, Ga.; three brothers, Eziell Treadwell of St. Louis, Cleveland Treadwell of Chicago and J.T. Treadwell of Marston; five sisters, Catherine Dunklin and Jearlene Stewart of Chicago, Dorothy Treadwell of Sikeston, Mandy Jones and Ethel Banks of Marston; 20 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon until 1 Saturday at the Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Marston.
Services will be at 1 p.m. at the church, with the Rev. Jay Slaughter officiating.
Burial will be at the Mason Cemetery in Point Pleasant, Mo.
Williams-Farr and Purnell Funeral Home in Howardville, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
