Ruthanne Hanebrink, 69, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, April 15, 2009.

She was born June 18, 1939, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Ernest and Virginia Dennis Drum. She and Cletis Dale Hanebrink were married May 3, 1975.

Survivors include children and grandchildren, Catherine (Samuel) Jarrell of St. Charles, Mo.; Susan Morrow (daughter Caitlyn, son Michael) of Piedmont, Mo.; Brad (Wanda) Hanebrink and son Zack of Sheridan, Wyo.; Bruce (Tamela) Hanebrink and children Amy, Grace, Lacey and Kyle of Jackson; Bryan Hanebrink of Sheridan; siblings Dennis Drum and Judy Wagoner.

She graduated from Central High School, where she earned a music scholarship. She attended Southeast Missouri State University. As a student, she served as first chair violinist in the Cape Girardeau Symphony. She continued to play in local orchestra performances for many years. Her love of playing piano and violin continued throughout her life.

Hanebrink worked for the Social Security Administration in Sikeston, Mo., and Cape Girardeau more than 20 years. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Chapel, helped with vacation Bible school, assisted in the church office and participated in Ladies Guild, Prison Prayer Ministry and weekly prayer group. She completed all Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) courses. She helped with Meals on Wheels and was a member of Cape Girardeau Garden Club.

She was an avid gardener and particularly enjoyed her iris garden. She traveled extensively with her husband to countries throughout Europe, as well as Mexico and Canada.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and had a wide circle of friends.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. to service time Saturday at Good Shepherd Chapel.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Good Shepherd, with the Rev. Barry Pfanstiel officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.
