Ruth LaDonn Whitsel-Schilling, 84, of Millersville passed away Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019, at home. She was born May 25, 1935, in Melber, Kentucky, daughter of Clyde Curtis and Esther Pearl Buckingham Rust. She and Joseph William Whitsel were married Oct. 24, 1953. He passed away Dec. 2, 1977...

Ruth LaDonn Whitsel-Schilling, 84, of Millersville passed away Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019, at home.

She was born May 25, 1935, in Melber, Kentucky, daughter of Clyde Curtis and Esther Pearl Buckingham Rust. She and Joseph William Whitsel were married Oct. 24, 1953. He passed away Dec. 2, 1977.

Ruth worked most of her life caring for others. She was a nursing assistant for many years at Perry County Nursing Home in Perryville, Missouri. She was a member of the Millersville Baptist Church.

Loving survivors are her three children, LaDonna Jo Winchester and Samuel Dean (Joy Ellen) Whitsel of Cape Girardeau and William Scott (Carrie Donna) Whitsel of Millersville; and two grandchildren, Misty Jo Whitsel and Damien Mark Davis.

Also surviving are three siblings, Leona Maxwell of Paducah, Kentucky, Ersel Rust of Mayfield, Kentucky, and Beverly Townsend of Huntsville, Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her husband and siblings, Howard Rust, Juanita Niehoff and Curtis Rust.

As per Ruth's request, there will be no services, and a private burial will take place at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Jackson Senior Center in Jackson.

McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center is in charge of arrangements.
