Ruth Wallace

Ruth Vernetta Wallace, 87, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born on March 28, 1918, in Lilbourn, Mo., daughter of Oscar and Bessie Lancaster Mize. She and Billie Ira Wallace were married Oct. 1, 1939. He died Dec. 12, 2002.

Wallace was the owner and operator of Wallace IGA of Oran, Mo. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sikeston, Mo.

Survivors include three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, a granddaughter, two brothers and two sisters.

Friedns may call from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Jeremy Clayton officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley, Mo.
