MOREHOUSE -- Funeral for Ruth Stroud of Morehouse will be held at 2 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse. The Rev. Tim Russell will officiate. Burial will be in Triplett Cemetery near Dexter.
Stroud, 85, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1999, at Clearview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sikeston.
She was born March 5, 1914, at Bernie, daughter of Edward and Donna Lee Smith Jordan. She and Oscar Stroud were married in 1934 at Bernie. He died in 1963.
Stroud lived in Southeast Missouri all her life, and in Morehouse since 1941. She was a cook at Lambert's Cafe in Sikeston 20 years.
Survivors include a son, Ernie Stroud of Wappapello; a sister, Minnie Owens of Dexter; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
