RUTH STEINHOUSE

Ruth Steinhouse, 87, of Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 1995, in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 15, 1907, in Cairo, Ill., daughter of Oscar and Elizabeth Smith Johnson. She and Charles E. Steinhouse were married June 15, 1927. He died Feb. 4, 1989.

Steinhouse was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Cairo. She had lived in Cape Girardeau since 1973.

Survivors include two daughters, Frances Banks of Houston, Texas, Carolyn Schaefer of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; a son, Charles Steinhouse of St. Louis, and a grandson.

She was preceded in death by a sister and brother.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo after 5 p.m. today. The rosary will be at 7.

Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cairo, with the Rev. Jerome Fortenberry officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Villa Ridge.
