RUTH STANLEY

EAST PRAIRIE -- Ruth Evelyn Loomes Stanley, 71, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at Vencor Hospital in St. Louis.

She was born April 8, 1928, at Kelso, daughter of Rome C. and Cynthia Bomer Pate. She and Robert F. Loomes were married Aug. 16, 1950. He died Feb. 8, 1985. She later married Paul R. Stanley June 10, 1989.

Stanley lived in East Prairie most of her life. She was a member of First General Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; 10 sons, Robert Loomis Jr. of Highland, Ill., James Gothard of Braidwood, Ill., Bill Gothard of Norris City, Ill., Clifford Pate of Allentown, Pa., Calvin, Dicky, Charlie, Van and Steve Loomes of East Prairie, Alfred Loomes of De Soto; three daughters, Irene Marti of Highland, Lucy Ellis of Braidwood, Patsy Beardsley of Harrisburg, Ill.; 32 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Bob Williams and Ernest Brown officiating. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
