CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Ruth May Saliers Spivey, 90, of Conroe, Texas, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at Woodlands Hospital in Texas.
She was born Aug. 13, 1910, at Oran, Mo., daughter of James Saliers and Eva Sivert Saliers. She and Lee Arthur Spivey were married Sept. 14, 1931. He died Aug. 2, 1977.
Mrs. Spivey lived in Chaffee and Cape Girardeau most of her life, moving to Conroe in 1984 from Cape Girardeau. She was a member of Gospel Assembly Church in Conroe.
Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Huff of Conroe; a granddaughter, Debra Gulsby; two great-grandchildren, Christine and Steven Gulsby, all of Dallas, Texas; a niece, Velta Mouser of Oran; three nephews, Carl Davis of Godfrey, Ill., Rodney and Jerry Saliers of Collinsville, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Naoma and Rosa; three brothers, Ervin, Wesley and Richard.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 5 p.m. Friday.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Revs. Winferd Wren and Bobby Mouser officiating. Burial will be in Friend Cemetery at Oran.
