SIKESTON, Mo. -- Ruth Laverne Shuffit, 76, of Wilhoit, Ariz., died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, at Hospice Family Care in Sun City, Ariz. She was born Jan. 12, 1928, in Sikeston, daughter of Anthony N. and Ora Johnson Miederhoff. She and Ray E. Shuffit were married in 1945. He died June 28, 1998...

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Ruth Laverne Shuffit, 76, of Wilhoit, Ariz., died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, at Hospice Family Care in Sun City, Ariz.

She was born Jan. 12, 1928, in Sikeston, daughter of Anthony N. and Ora Johnson Miederhoff. She and Ray E. Shuffit were married in 1945. He died June 28, 1998.

Shuffit had worked as a scrub technician.

Survivors include a brother, Robert Miederhoff of Las Vegas, Nev.; three sisters, Dorothy Miederhoff of Whittier, Calif., Margaret Sterr and Doris Miederhoff of Stilwell, Okla.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 3:30 to 5 p.m. today.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston, with Monsignor Stephen Schneider officiating.
