JACKSON, Mo. -- Ruth G. Seymour, 81, of Jackson died Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, where she had lived for the past two years.
She was born Sept. 9, 1918, in Randolph County, Ill., daughter of John and Mary Belle Meyer Zang.
She taught school for many years in Illinois, including in Randolph County, St. Clair and Granite City.
She was a member of the Nameoki United Methodist Church in Granite City. She moved to Jackson from Granite City in 1994.
She and Lloyd Seymour were married Dec. 18, 1943, at Perryville, Mo. He died Jan. 2, 1987.
Survivors include a daughter, Janice Burk of Jackson; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son.
Friends may call at Irwin Funeral Chapel in Granite City from 5-8 p.m. Monday.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel. The Rev. Jamie Hahs will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Gardens at Belleville, Ill. Local arrangements were handled by McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
