CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Ruth Sanders, 73, of Powhatan, Virginia, formerly of Advance, Missouri passed away Sunday, Nov. 29, 2020 at her home. She was born Nov. 10, 1947, in Canalou, Missouri, daughter to Earl Ross and Loyal Partain Jones. On Nov. 15, 1968, she and Richard E Sanders Sr. were united in marriage in Sikeston, Missouri. He preceded her in death on Sept. 17, 2001...

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Ruth Sanders, 73, of Powhatan, Virginia, formerly of Advance, Missouri passed away Sunday, Nov. 29, 2020 at her home. She was born Nov. 10, 1947, in Canalou, Missouri, daughter to Earl Ross and Loyal Partain Jones. On Nov. 15, 1968, she and Richard E Sanders Sr. were united in marriage in Sikeston, Missouri. He preceded her in death on Sept. 17, 2001.

Through the years Richard and Ruth sold real estate, owned and operated R&R Electronics and Ceramic Works, Quality Metal and Sanders' Farms. Ruth was the secretary at Delta R-V Elementary for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Whitewater.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard Jr. and Jessica Sanders; grandchildren Haley, Brianna, Morgan and Trey of Jackson; her daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Gregory Goergen; grandchildren Zachary and Jeremiah of Powhatan; one brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Pat Jones of West Memphis, Arkansas; two sisters, Eva Jones of Sikeston, Missouri, and Sue Malloy of Canalou; nieces, nephews and numerous friends.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, sister, three brother-in-laws, niece, and daughter, Amanda.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Whitewater, with the Rev. Mike Dugan officiating. Burial will follow at Kenyon Cemetery in Delta.
