RUTH SAMS

CAIRO, Ill. -- Ruth Sams, 92, of Paducah, Ky., formerly of Cairo, Ill., died Thursday, May 13, 1993, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.

She was born Nov. 23, 1900, at Benton, Ky., daughter of Sam and Ida Mae Burton.

She married Jewell Sams. He died Oct. 16, 1989.

Sams was a member of the Washington Avenue Baptist Church and the Rebekahs in Cairo, Ill.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Estes of Paducah, Ky.; three sons, Lawrence E. "Beans" Morgan of Cairo, Ill., Elbert E. Morgan of Ada, Okla., Jewell "Judy" Sams of Paducah, Ky.; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Saturday at the Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo, Ill.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo, Ill., with the Rev. Larry Bance officiating.

Burial will follow in Spencer Heights Cemetery in Mounds, Ill.
