COBDEN, Ill. -- Ruth Standard Wilkins of Keokuk, Iowa, formerly of Cobden, died Thursday, May 9, 1996, in the Maui Memorial Hospital in Wailuku, Hawaii.
She was the daughter of Lester and Emma Treece Broadway Standard. Her first husband, Capt. Eugene Dillow, preceded her in death. She later married J.H. Wilkins on Nov. 3, 1946, in Cobden.
Wilkins was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Keokuk, where she served as an elder and deacon. She was a member of Chapter LY of PEO, Beta Sigma Phi and Presbyterian Women. She volunteered in many community and civic projects.
Survivors include her husband; a son, John Wilkins of Muncie, Ind.; a daughter, Leslie Wilkins Priest of Wailuku; her stepmother, Evelyn Standard of West Frankfort, Ill.; a stepbrother, Charles B. Broadway of Marion, Ill.; and five grandchildren.
Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday at the Lutz & Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden.
A graveside service will be conducted at Anna Cemetery immediately following the visitation. The Rev. Richard Ryman will officiate.
