Ruth I. Reynolds, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 27, 1923, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of E.N. and Opal Best Blumer. She and Thomas Reynolds were married July 9, 1940, in Cape Girardeau. He died Dec. 9, 2003.
Reynolds was a member of Old St. Vincent's Church, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Daughters of Isabella, and past board member of VIP Industries. She was a nurse aide at Southeast Missouri Hospital, Saint Francis, and had worked at the old Saint Francis Hospital.
Survivors include six sons, Mark, Daniel, Matthew, Kevin and Brian Reynolds, all of Cape Girardeau, Phillip Reynolds of Oregon; three daughters, Patricia Proffer and Amy Reynolds of Cape Girardeau, Julia Burke of Marble Hill, Mo.; a sister, Dorothy Welker of Kansas City, Mo.; 29 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by two sons, two daughters, two sisters, and a brother.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7.
The funeral will be held at Old St. Vincent de Paul Church at 10 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. Tom Flynn officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
