Ruth Mehrle, 82, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, May 26, 1991, at Indian Creek Nursing Center in Overland Park, Kan.
She was born Aug. 27, 1908 in Thebes, Ill., the daughter of Harry and Frankie Cauble Holshouser. She married Walter Mehrle in Detroit, Mich. He preceded her in death March 1980.
She formerly was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ in Cape Girardeau. She and her husband had lived in Detroit, Mich. for 43 years, before moving to Kansas City in 1971.
They operated Taste Chip Steak Company, a meat processing company in Detroit. She also was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons.
Survivors include a brother, Herb Holshouser of Cape Girardeau; and three sisters, Loraine Trythall of Overland Park, Kan., Mary Alice Rosburg of Plymouth, Mich. and Muriel Hunt of Detroit.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. A grave-side service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. Earl Sams will officiate.
