RUTH MASON

SIKESTON -- Ruth M. Mason, 92, of Sikeston died Friday, Feb. 2, 1996, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born July 17, 1903, in Maunie, Ill., to William and Emma Lee Ratleigh Nitman. She married Claude Lee Mason, who died Oct. 1, 1970.

Mason moved to Sikeston from Chicago 36 years ago and was one of the first residents of the Wendell Apartments. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Survivors are a stepbrother, Woodrow Hawkins of Sikeston, and a half-sister, Emma Lee Butler of Sikeston.

She was preceded in death by two half-brothers and two half-sisters.

Friends may call after noon Monday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, with the Rev. Tom Geers officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
