Ruth M. Blattel, 62, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Aug. 1, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born April 30, 1936, at Zalma, daughter of Charles and Marcella Stephens Lawson.
She worked at Sears in the catalog department for 20 years. She retired in 1992. She was a member of the Olive Branch, Ill., Chamber of Commerce.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
She married T.J. Blattel on June 2, 1956, at Kelso.
Survivors include her husband of Cape Girardeau; a son, Tom Blattel of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Cindy Stone of Cape Girardeau and Peggy Neal of Arnold; two sisters, Lorene Frey of Orlando, Fla., and Bonnie Poole of Cape Girardeau; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
The Rev. Jim Seyer will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
