CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Ruth Lorene Kage, 81, of Charleston died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at East Prairie Nursing Center.
She was born April 14, 1919, in Mound City, Ill., daughter of James William and Alice Sarah Parrott Koen. She and Edward Dewey Kage were married Feb. 9, 1952. He died Dec. 5, 1990.
Kage and her husband owned and operated Kage Sales and Service Inc. in St. Louis, and after retiring moved to Charleston in 1987. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Cathedral.
Survivors include a stepson, Edward Kage of Greenville, Ill.; two brothers, Elmer Koen of Mound City, Howard Koen of Paducah, Ky.; a sister, Sarah Davis of Mound City; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister and a half sister.
Her body was donated to Logan College of Chiropractic Medicine.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mound City. Msgr. Bill McGhee will officiate.
