RUTH K. RUSSELL

Ruth Kathrine Russell, 78, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, March 24, 1995, at her home.

She was born Feb. 26, 1917, at Cape Girardeau, daughter of Homer and Frieda Hanschen O'Neal. She and Elam J. Russell were married May 16, 1948, at Harrisburg, Ark. He died June 6, 1989.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She previously worked at the Jackson Hosiery Mill. She worked as a nurse's aide at Southeast Missouri Hospital for 20 years before retiring in 1985.

Survivors include a son, Robert Russell of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Mary Thompson of Lake of the Ozarks, and Joan Gribble and Martha Eaker of Cape Girardeau; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Friends may call Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel.

Funeral service will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. David Dissen will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
