VILLA RIDGE, Ill. -- Ruth Virginia Hodges, 69, of Villa Ridge died Monday, April 28, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born May 15, 1933, in Brownsville, Ill., daughter of Donald and Mary Wagner Coleman. She and Robert S. Hodges were married June 7, 1953, in Cairo, Ill.
Hodges had been a retail clerk at numerous businesses in the Cairo area. She served as site manager for Senior Citizens Smiles One Center in Ullin, Ill., and in recent years was manager of Town and Country Store in Cairo.
She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Cairo and was a Sunday School teacher.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Robert Hodges of Mountain Home, Idaho, Kevin and Gregory Hodges of Metropolis, Ill.; a brother, Donald Coleman of Mineral Wells, Texas; three sisters, Ellen Turner and Lenora Turner of Anna, Ill., Janice Coleman of San Bernardino, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and after 11 a.m. Friday at the Assembly of God Church in Cairo.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the church, with the Revs. Charles Lance and Wilma Williams officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens.
