GLEN ALLEN -- Ruth Evelyn Fields, 76, of Glen Allen, formerly of Kennett, died Saturday, June 22, 1991, at Bond Nursing Care Center in Marble Hill.
She was born Jan. 8, 1915, at Iconium, daughter of Walter William and Edith Gardner Smith.
In 1929 she married J. Ovid Jelks. He preceded her in death.
She married Charlie F. Fields in 1936. He died May 19, 1987.
She is survived by five sons, J.W. Jelks, of Odessa, Bill Fields of Glen Allen, Bob Fields of Round Rock, Texas, Ted Fields of Jacksonville, Fla., Jim Fields of Kennett; a daughter, Wilma Bell of Cape Girardeau; eight sisters, Helen Swain of Kennett, Lillie Mattingly and Audrey Lashley of Flat River, Edith Sinclair of Seligman, Iva Harmon of Mosier, Ore., Katie Harmon of Bolivar, Ruby Cast of Roseburg, Ore., Juanita Wisner of Osceola; 20 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
A son and a brother preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m. at McDaniel Funeral Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Randy Masters officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.
