ANNA, Ill. -- Ruth Emery, 83, of Anna died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001, at Union County Hospital. She was born Aug. 4, 1918, at Pomona, Ill., daughter of Clarence and Mary Ellen Rowan McCann. She and Wilbur R. Emery were married May 18, 1946, in Jonesboro, Ill. He died May 14, 2000...

ANNA, Ill. -- Ruth Emery, 83, of Anna died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001, at Union County Hospital.

She was born Aug. 4, 1918, at Pomona, Ill., daughter of Clarence and Mary Ellen Rowan McCann. She and Wilbur R. Emery were married May 18, 1946, in Jonesboro, Ill. He died May 14, 2000.

Survivors include three daughters, Janas Smith of Goreville, Ill., Karen Vaughn of Anna, Marilyn Randol of Wilson, N.C.; seven grandchildren; a stepgrandchild; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, a brother, three half sisters, and a half brother.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna after 6 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gregory Randol officiating. Burial will be in Alto Pass Cemetery.
