Ruth Devine, 90, of Chateau Girardeau, died there Friday, Feb. 24, 1995.
She was born May 14, 1904, in Ste. Genevieve, daughter of George Anton and Ella Simon Reich. She and James H. Devine were married June 9, 1928, in Ste. Genevieve. He preceded her in death.
Devine worked 25 years at Rust-Oleum Corp. in Chicago, serving as assistant to the president and retiring as manager. When she began work with the firm in 1944 there was a total of six employees, three of whom were the owners.
She was a member of Old St. Vincent's Catholic Church, life member of St. Francis Medical Center Auxiliary, and life member of the Foundation for the Restoration of Ste. Genevieve.
Survivors include two nephews, James and Gerald Reich; three nieces, Susan and Patricia Reich, and Mary Hanneken, all of Ste. Genevieve.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, sister and brother.
Funeral mass was held Feb. 27 at Church of Ste. Genevieve, with the Rev. John Seper and Deacon George Wood officiating. Burial was in Valle Spring Cemetery.
Stanton-Wood Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
