RUTH C. PAYNE

ULLIN, Ill. -- Funeral service for Ruth C. Payne of Ullin will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Crain Funeral Chapel here. The Rev. Greg Forbus will officiate, with burial in St. John's Cemetery near Dongola.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 11 a.m. Saturday.

Payne, 92, died Wednesday, April 8, 1992, at Styrest Nursing Home in Carbondale.

She was born Oct. 16, 1899, at Mill Creek, daughter of Sandy and Frances Sheffer. She married Jessie Payne, who preceded her in death.

Payne was a member of First Baptist Church in Ullin, and 50-year member of Royal Neighbors.

Survivors include five sons, Paul Payne of Dearborn, Mich., Jesse Payne of Tupelo, Miss., Edwin Payne of Hampton, Va., Frankie Payne of Carbondale, and John Payne of Ozark, Ala.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.
