RUTH BRYANT

CAIRO, Ill. -- Ruth E. Bryant, 85, of Cairo died Thursday, April 26, 2001, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Ky.

She was born Nov. 10, 1915, at Grand Tower, Ill., daughter of Willis and Mary Kinder Cruse. She married Murray V. Bryant, who died in 1995.

Bryant retired as a cashier at Security Bank and Trust Co. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Beta Sigma Phi sorority.

Survivors include a daughter, Kay Routh of Wickliffe, Ky.; a sister, Helen Hock of Birmingham, Mich.; a brother, Harold Cruse of Jensen Beach, Fla.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo from 5 to 7 p.m. today.

Funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kelly Cox officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge, Ill.
