Ruth Ann Boxdorfer, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 16, 1941, in Perryville, Missouri, to Marvin Reisenbichler and Sophia Meyr. Ruth Ann and Marvin E. Boxdorfer were married March 22, 1980, in Florissant, Missouri.
She was a 1959 graduate of Perryville High School.
Ruth Ann was secretary at the YMCA of Greater St. Louis and also played organ in Longtown, Missouri, early in her career.
She was a member of the American Legion Post 133 Auxiliary, Red Hat Society, Capaha Antique Car Club, the Perry County Lutheran Chorale and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir.
She retired to the Fruitland community and had lived in Cape Girardeau for a number of years.
Ruth Ann had a liver transplant in 1989 and had lived with that for 32 years.
Survivors include a brother, Ralph (Nancy) Reisenbichler; stepson, Stephen (Christine) Boxdorfer; niece, Amy (Paul) Dunning of Foristell, Missouri; and nephew, Steven Reisenbichler of Perryville.
She was preceded in death by husband, Marvin E. Boxdorfer, and stepdaughter, Susan Boxdorfer.
Friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Chapel, 1904 W. Cape Rock Drive in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel with Pastor Weston Wildauer officiating. Entombment will be at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions may be given to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
