CHAFFEE -- Ruth A. Gettings, 84, of Chaffee, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 1996, at Truman Lake Manor in Lowry City. She was born July 17, 1911, at Chaffee, daughter of John William and Rosa Lee Daniels Heeb. She and Elbert D. Gettings were married Sept. 16, 1933. He died July 11, 1981...

CHAFFEE -- Ruth A. Gettings, 84, of Chaffee, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 1996, at Truman Lake Manor in Lowry City.

She was born July 17, 1911, at Chaffee, daughter of John William and Rosa Lee Daniels Heeb. She and Elbert D. Gettings were married Sept. 16, 1933. He died July 11, 1981.

Gettings was a member of First Baptist Church, S.O.S. Club, and Ladies Auxiliary of United Trainmen.

Survivors include two sons, William Gettings of Lowry City, Phillip Gettings of Columbus, Ga.; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Gerald Collier officiating. Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery.
