CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Memorial service for Russell Vincent Rogers of Chateau Girardeau will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Chateau Girardeau Activity Center. The Rev. Neil Stein will officiate.

Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel is in charge of arrangements. There is no visitation.

Rogers, 78 years old, died Friday, Jan. 18, 1991, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center.

He was born Sept. 24, 1912, in St. Louis, son of John and Cora Bopp Rogers. He and the former Pearl Mugele were married Dec. 29, 1937, in Viana, Ohio.

Rogers had an orchestra many years in Ohio, then worked at McDonnell Aircraft in St. Louis, went back to Ohio and managed a family grocery store for six years, came back to St. Louis and was employed by the U.S. Postal Service 11 years, retiring in 1977.

He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, and Fostoria, Ohio, Masonic Lodge AF&AM.

Survivors include his wife, and a brother, Arden Rogers of Marble Head, Ohio.
