SCOTT CITY -- Russell John Taylor, 75, of East Lansing, Mich., died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 1998, at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Mich. He was born Jan. 10, 1922, in Noble, Ill., son of Andrew and Effie Taylor. He and Irene Speckin were married Oct. 6, 1951, in Angola, Ind. She died in May 1996...

SCOTT CITY -- Russell John Taylor, 75, of East Lansing, Mich., died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 1998, at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Mich.

He was born Jan. 10, 1922, in Noble, Ill., son of Andrew and Effie Taylor. He and Irene Speckin were married Oct. 6, 1951, in Angola, Ind. She died in May 1996.

Taylor was a 1941 graduate of Fornfelt High School. He retired from the water treatment plant in East Lansing. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps in the South Pacific during World War II.

Survivors include a niece, Maxine Sanford of Scott City.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Gorsline-Runciman Funeral Home in East Lansing. Burial will be in East Lawn Memory Garden in Haslett, Mich.
