Russell David Robertson, 67, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at his home.

He was born March 20, 1943, in St. Louis, to Willard and Arlie Boyer Robertson. He and Carol Hardcastle Robertson were married June 11, 1994, in Cape Girardeau.

David was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Chapel.

He served 21 years in the U.S. Army, retiring as a master sergeant. He served as an extra in Hollywood movies during his Army career, and his favorite was "The Great Escape," starring Steve McQueen. He loved drag racing and broke several speed records in his Chevelle.

David owned a stamp and coin business in Massachusetts and Trek Collectibles in Cape Girardeau. He was an amazing mechanic and worked in his father's shop in Ellsinore, Mo., after retiring from the Army. He was an avid Star Trek collector and fan. He loved to fish and collect coins and stamps, and loved old-time gospel hymns. His dearest wish was for all his family and friends to "live long and prosper."

Survivors include his wife, Carol Robertson of Cape Girardeau; a son, David Russell Robertson and wife Gina of Phoenix; two daughters, Lisa Twidwell of St. Charles, Mo., Monya Robertson-Kittinger and husband Brad of Brunswick, Maine; two brothers, Danny Robertson and wife Bonita and Steve Robertson, both of Ellsinore; a sister, Barbara Dalton of Ellsinore; five grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Braden, Mackenzie, Erin and Gibson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Chapel.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Barry Pfanstiel officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Ellsinore.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Parkinson's Foundation or Michael J. Fox Foundation.
