ANNA, Ill. -- Russell McClure, 89, of Anna died Monday, May 1, 2000, at City Care Center in Cobden. He was born Nov. 2, 1910, in Sparta, son of James and Maggie Groce McClure. He and Bertha Walls were married Aug. 9, 1930. She died Dec. 28, 1998. McClure was a retired general contractor. He was supervisor and general foreman during construction of the atomic energy plant in Kevil, Ky. He was a member of Carpenters Local 638...

ANNA, Ill. -- Russell McClure, 89, of Anna died Monday, May 1, 2000, at City Care Center in Cobden.

He was born Nov. 2, 1910, in Sparta, son of James and Maggie Groce McClure. He and Bertha Walls were married Aug. 9, 1930. She died Dec. 28, 1998.

McClure was a retired general contractor. He was supervisor and general foreman during construction of the atomic energy plant in Kevil, Ky. He was a member of Carpenters Local 638.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Vincent of Anna, Jeanetta Drum of Creve Coeur, Ill.; two sons, Bob and Bill McClure of Anna; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, three brothers, and a sister.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Anna from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.
