POPLAR BLUFF -- Russell M. Douglass, 77, of Poplar Bluff, died Sunday, March 5, 1995, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center. He was born Sept. 17, 1917, in New Liberty. He and Wilma Jean Bates were married Dec. 14, 1945, in Salem, Ark. Douglass retired as an electronic engineer at KFVS-TV with Hirsch Broadcasting Co. in Cape Girardeau. POPLAR BLUFF -- Russell M. Douglass, 77, of Poplar Bluff, died Sunday, March 5, 1995, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 17, 1917, in New Liberty. He and Wilma Jean Bates were married Dec. 14, 1945, in Salem, Ark.

Douglass retired as an electronic engineer at KFVS-TV with Hirsch Broadcasting Co. in Cape Girardeau. He was a member and elder of Hickory Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Alton.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Garnett Douglass of Memphis, Tenn., Vic Douglass of Jackson; a daughter, Linda Goldschmidt of Fisk; two sisters, Thelma Davis of Winona, Bernice Saxton of Eagar, Ariz., and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son and granddaughter.

Friends may call at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Wappapello after 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hickory Grove Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
